  1. What is the best thickness to install engineered flooring on concrete in Florida? My salesman said 3/8″ is better than 1/2″. My husband said he is wrong. Thicker flooring will not bow, the salesman said thicker will bow, 3/8″ (thinner) does not.

    Who is right?

I purchased a 3/8″ Mohawk flooring and my husband said I should buy 1/2″.

    1. Primarily, this depends on what installation method you’re using. If you are floating the floor, then the thicker product is probably a slightly better bet. If you are gluing the floor down, then either product will work equally well. Regardless of whichever installation method you choose, it is critical that the slab is dry, level, sound, and clean. Hope this helps!
